CRUISES, TRAVEL & INFORMATION

GENERAL TRAVEL TIPS:

TRAVELLING OUTSIDE OF THE U.S.

Always check the identification requirements of the destination you are planning. Information concerning the necessity of passports, visas, or other forms of id should always be checked well beforehand. Also these rules can change periodically, so make sure your information is up to date.

EMERGENCY CARE

Always be aware of what emergency care is available, especially if you have children traveling with you. This information is usually available from a tourism board, a U.S. consulate, or your travel agent. It's a good idea to write down addresses and phone numbers before you go.

CUSTOMS

There are usually customs regulations that you will encounter every time you cross a border, or disembark from a ship. Just be sure to be aware of the shopping limits, etc. A good rule of thumb when crossing any border is not to bring anything edible with you that isn't in a closed container. Stay away from crossing these points with any fruit or vegatables.

PLANNING ACTIVITIES

If you enjoy activities that require planning (such as diving, fishing etc.). It is a good idea to make some contact with the services that provide these activities before you go. An example that comes to mind is "Swim with the Dolphins" in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. This is a very popular activity, however, usually requires a reservation about a week in advance. If you try to make the reservation after you get there, you may be disappointed.
